Description
Cascina del Monastero is no corporate winery. It is Giuseppe Grasso, his wife Velda, and their son Loris—fourth and fifth-generation winemakers dedicated to the traditions of the Langhe. Their estate is modest, just 14 hectares spread across La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Roddino, and Barolo, but what they produce from these vineyards is remarkable. From these hillside plots come classic expressions of Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Barolo, wines rooted in authenticity and place. Once home to Benedictine monks and later admired by Pope Pius VII, the estate carries a deep sense of history that continues to shape the character, heritage, and integrity found in every bottle.
