CLOS DE LOS SIETE 2016 750ML

The 2016 vintage was one of the most difficult since Clos de los Siete began, impacted by El Niño, which brought high humidity and rainfall. Heavy winter snowfall lingered into summer. Spring frosts before budding reduced yields, especially for Malbec. A cold, wet season followed, with the harvest being one of the coldest in 30 years. Despite challenges, lower rainfall in March–April allowed healthy vines. Harvest started two weeks late and ended early, just before autumn snow. The result: a fresh, aromatic wine with intense blackberry and plum notes, vibrant acidity, and aging potential. Blend: 54% Malbec, 18% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Syrah, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged 11 months (70% oak, 30% vat). —Michel Rolland, Winemaker
