Doña Vega Tobala is produced in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca using 100% Maguey Tobala (Agave Potatorum). It is produced by a 5th generation family run by the mother and her 3 daughters. This mezcal is produced using traditional practices. The agaves are harvested and cooked in an underground horno. Next, they are fermented and distilled in copper pots. The final product is distilled to proof. Doña Vega Tobala has notes of vanilla, coco, nougat and toasted oak. Doña Vega Mezcal began as a passion project by founder Sonya Vega Auvray. After discovering mezcal, she became obsessed with the bold taste, but found that many versions were too smoky or intense. After traveling throughout Oaxaca she created Doña Vega Mezcal. Her creative blend honors the bold tradition and unique flavors of mezcal with a modern twist.
