Founded in 1966 by pioneers David and Diana Lett, The Eyrie Vineyards is one of Oregon’s most historic wineries and helped establish the Willamette Valley as one of the world’s great Pinot Noir regions. After arriving in Oregon in 1965 with “3,000 grape cuttings and a theory,” David Lett planted the valley’s first Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris vines, laying the foundation for the state’s modern wine industry. Just a decade later, Eyrie’s Pinot Noir became the first American wine to compete successfully against Burgundy in international tastings. Today, second-generation winemaker Jason Lett continues the family’s pioneering legacy, producing estate-grown wines from organically farmed, own-rooted vineyards. Hand harvesting, native fermentations, minimal intervention, and a “gentle touch” philosophy allow each wine to express its vineyard with purity and elegance. Renowned for their finesse and remarkable ability to age, Eyrie’s wines remain benchmark expressions of Oregon terroir.
