Description
Garage Wine Co. began quite literally in Pilar Miranda and Derek Mossman’s garage in 2001. What started as a small passion project has grown into an international benchmark for old-vine, terroir-driven wines from Chile’s Maule and Itata valleys. Working closely with small family growers, the winery rescues historic dry-farmed vineyards—many planted on their original pre-phylloxera rootstocks—that had been relegated to bulk wine production. Farming is regenerative and low-intervention, combining hand and horse cultivation, local traditions, and organic practices to restore vineyard health and biodiversity. Guided by the philosophy of “Follow the Juice,” each small vineyard parcel is fermented separately to capture its unique character, resulting in vibrant, authentic wines that express the remarkable heritage and diversity of Chile’s historic vineyards.
