Description
I was surprised to find a reasonably priced 2015 Barbera D’Asti of this quality still available. The wine is an outlier, with aromas of barnyard, truffles and smoke meats, followed by well integrated, funky, smoky, black fruit flavors, a medium bodied texture and dryish tannins, yet low acidity, on the finish for roundness. The wine offers an overall level of flavor integration, complexity and character that can only come from substantial bottle aging. If you’re inclined to such wines, this one is a must. -Armando Luis, Owner & Wine Director, Sparrow W&L Co.
