Okay, we've held back as long as we could. We think you're ready - ready for our first rosé WOM of the year! We also think we've found the perfect pink palate pleaser to fit in seamlessly with early spring weather and cuisine. Mulderbosch rosé from South Africa has the unusual distinction of being comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon (100%). Cab is not your typical rosé grape, but it works beautifully in this example. Perhaps that's due to the fact that the new owner of Mulderbosch is none other than Charles Banks whose other properties include Screaming Eagle - only the most sought after Cabernet on the planet. Regardless, this rosé had a lovely mid-weight texture, a healthy deep pink hue, and a pleasing flavor profile, which my notes described as "molded herbs and precise cherry - basically delicious". The finish is dry and refreshing. This is your official welcome to rosé season!
