VINATIGO LISTAN NEGRO JOVEN 750ML

This wine is bonkers. It comes from Tenerife, the largest of the six wine-producing Canary Islands, under Spanish rule off the coast of Africa. Besides the fact that this sustainable, micro-production project is grown on volcanic soil, within striking range of the nearest active volcano, the wine is simply drop dead gorgeous. When I first tasted this wine, I could barely beleive that it wasn't from the Northern Rhone, because the wine is distinctly marked with all the trappings of great Cote-Rotie or Cornas: sweet black olive, woodsmoke, freshly cracked black peppercorn, and a savory/meaty quality that I just can't get out of my head.
