Description
Viñedos del Jorco is located in Spain’s rugged Sierra de Gredos mountains within the PDO Cebreros, a historic wine region southwest of Ávila known for ancient bush vines, granite soils, and high-altitude vineyards. Though the appellation only received PDO status in 2019, winemaking here dates back to the 13th century. Founded in 2009 by César Ruiz, Flequi Berruti, Nacho Jimenez, and acclaimed winemaker Raúl Pérez, the winery focuses on showcasing a fresher, more elegant expression of Garnacha. In 2016, the team purchased a prized 1915-planted vineyard in the remote Jorco area, where cool temperatures, granite soils, and high elevations produce refined, mineral-driven wines with freshness and finesse.Today, Viñedos del Jorco farms organically, following some biodynamic principles, crafting precise, vibrant Garnacha wines known for finesse, freshness, and purity of fruit.
